Supporting thread for the Universal Webcam drivers bounty.

Let's understand the requirement first....
The need is for a driver or for an IM Application?
If is for a "Universal Driver, there should be an API to serve to... is there any "implementation" wanted?
Greetings
Carlos de Luna Saenz

I found this interesting article about a French men that developed an open source driver under Linux for several webcams.

Possible his work can be ported to OS/2-eCS

Over 200 webcams (and other articles like the one on slashdot stated even more). I wonder if he would allow his drivers to be ported to OS/2 & eCS?

I also saw the article in the Inquirer about the French gentleman. Perhaps we could offer him a bounty to develope webcam drivers for eComStatino?

Is there enough in the bounty to make worth his efforts?

BWG,

That's a good question. Considering the gentleman wrote 300+ Linux drivers with no compensation or little recognition, I think our bounty and community gratitude would be a decent starter. Perhaps someone can start a dialogue and feel out a response. If he had a PayPal account, that would make it easy to contribute. I don't use a webcam, but would put in what I could afford.

Well, I don't know what he can say, since he need to have ecs installed and also a complete development enviroment under ecs.

Also, we always can always raise the bounty mount on the bounty page.

But even if we got the drivers, we need some webcam application.

"But even if we got the drivers, we need some webcam application." - Let's work on one thing at a time ... perhaps in a modular fashion. OS/2 has VideoIN can that be used? Also, how about that software included in the Bonus Pack (P2P?).
