| Thomas,
1. Are you logged on the server as admin? 2.Does this happen only when booted to os/2 command via 3. Was there a previous installation on the hard disk? Addition information : though I can't remove this directory, I can rename it. ie move c:\xx c:\zz can be executed. Any addtional suggestion / comment ? Suspected another way to solve the problem is to find out what process/program is using that directory, but how ? Any help from you or anyone is much appreciated. |

Check to make sure the directory attribute is not marked 'Read only". If so, change it. |

| Sam, I don't knwo what program should be using a directory called \xx that you created on your own. Firthermore I can't figure out why you can't delete it but rename ist! To get rid of the directory, use Alt-F1, boot to a command prompt and either launch a vio file manager (F, FC/2, etc.) or manually remove it (rd). There also might be corrupt INI information for the folder. But I still imagine some kind of problem with shares: Have you set up the hard disk C: o be shared? If so, it might be a lock by the system process that handles shares... ehh... kind of maybe... Greetings |

| Can you "move" that damned folder? If you can then you can use the following ceremony: 1. Move the folder on a diskette This worked on W3 and W4 against seemingly undeletable objects. Disconnect yourself from the web, restart, and check everything which concerns the web. Among other checks, create a temporary folder and move there everything from the startup folder, except programs that MUST run. You can restore the startup folder later by moving the links back. |
