I got a copy of OS/2 Warp v3 today and I I am having difficulty getting it installed using a PC Compatibility card.First of all, this is on a Power Machintosh which contains a card that has a Pentium processor, Sound Blaster 16 chipset, ATI All-In-Wonder integrated VGA chipset and independant system RAM. With this card, the PowerMac can run Windows 3.1 flawlessly along with Windows 95 and is designed for other PC operating systems as well.
I think the problem comes with the CD-ROM. This is the CD-ROM version of OS/2 and in order for the PC to see the CD there is a SYS file that is added to the CONFIG.SYS in DOS that lets the card share drves with the system. This file is obviously not loaded by the OS/2 Install program and it can't seem to get to the CD-ROM part of the install.
I insert the first disk and it boots to the blue "IBM" screen and asks for the second disk. From there, it goes to the graphical OS/2 screen and then stops after a few moments. My guess is that when it can't find an appropriate driver for the CD-ROM, it abandons the installation attempt.
Is there any way to get the SYS file loaded so that I can proceed with the installation?
Thanks!
