| I have a 20 gigabyte hard drive. To install Warp ver 4, I used the updated diskettes from the fixpak or from the IBM site ( http://www.ibm.com - they have one for Warp ver 3 and large drives). I used the fdisk to install the boot manager and created a c: partition with 2 gig and a d: partition with the rest of the space on the hard drive. It installed. Before repartitioning, perhaps you can get the 'large disk' update from the IBM site (in the download section where there is an 'OS/2' drivers list). I hope this helps in some way.
OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end. |

| I downloaded the the fixPack for V3. (20 files xr-w040.?dk) But I do not know how to make the updated disks to start the installation. I do not have OS2 installed yet on any machine ! I only have dos 6.22 up and win NT/2K up and running. How can I make boot (startup) and the the needed install- and utility disks from the fixpack ? When I use the Install & 1ste Utility disk created from the CD OS2 Warp connect V3, I can get in OS2 prompt mode. When I start then fdisk my harddrive is NOT view as I made the partitions with PQmagic in DOS ! All my partition are FAT ! Chkdsk c: gives me the result that my drive C: has only 15 meg of disk space.

| As I understand You mentioned that your OS2 partitiond is 2nd on the disk. Could it be that the OS2 partition is above the 1024 cylinder limit where you usually will get major headache to boot system ? If the answer is yes or if you're not sure. Try following then; remove the 500MB OS2 partition and move the 1st partition enought for you to squeze in a 500MB OS2 partition before and you might as well set up boot manager or any other partitionsoftware that will help you to boot on the different partitions. Also if you using Win 2000 or XP and using OS2 Bootmanager; mentioned OS corrupt the boot manager partition. Let us know how it works out. /Kim |

| Hmm okey, the next thing to try is to update the IDE drivers on the installations diskettes. To download the latest IDE drivers for OS2 click here . /Kim |

| Latest FP for Warp 4 (US) is 15 (xr_m015) so recommend that you download this instead of using FP6. FP15 kan be found ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/ps/products/os2/fixes/v4warp/english-us/xr_m015/ To install the FP you then need the Corrective Service Facility f.143 (fixtools) or later to install the FP. Fixtools can be found here: ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/ps/products/os2/fixtool/english-us/ |

Argh.. I saw now that you're installing Warp 3 and not Warp 4. But, okey, check the same urls and back down a bit in the three and you'll find what you're looking for ![]() |
