I think having a bounty system is a *GREAT* idea. I know that there have a few similar endeavors done in the past but since OS2World.com is a real active website it should get more users talking about the whole idea, and then possibly something being done about the ideas rather than them simply being noted on the static/dead webpage somewhere in cyberspace. One question I have though is this: I posted a small idea for a new little system program, but there doesn't seem to be a URL/PAGE where one can read *ALL* the different ideas suggested, or if there is I guess I missed it. If there isn't a page listing all the suggestions, is one going to be put together? This way people can read others ideas, which in turn might spark further in-depth input on a given idea. Also, it could be that someones idea has already been done but they didn't know it, and whoever clarifies it could then post a URL where the program or whatever could be found. I think this would help to avoid reinventing the wheel and allow for greater sharing of information. Gregory L. Marx chekmarx@gmail.com

The current page where you find the current posted suggestions are the main Bounty page: http://www.os2world.com/bounties/ If you have posted submittion (and I´ve noticed) it will be posted during the next couple of days. Sometimes we might also return som question if there are some unclear suggestions. But, so far all the suggestion we have recieved has been great ideas. So posting a bounty suggestion will not automatic show up directly within the system. Of course this section will be improved and I´m happy to mention that we as well have a Bounty Manager as well now that will take care of the more daily routines with this activities. But, will post some more info about this later during this weekend.

| "Bounty" you say? I offer up Bill Gates as target number one. Hehe... I couldn't resist.

While the bounty system effort is a great idea, it is severely lacking something: PR! The way it is now, developers more or less have to stumble over the bounties. And nobody gets to know when the amount is raised. It would be nice to have an automatic PR system that sends mails to the OS/2 news services each time a bounty for a new item gets added, the bounty amount is increased, or a bounty is closed. Also, there should be a status report once a month that lists all items and the bounties placed on them.

True, the idea is to set together a weekly or bi-weekly news letter with the latest updates regarding the active and new bounties. And I hope to get this out during the next couple of days. As well, if there are other ideas or suggestion; please also then open up dialog with Björn Söderström who's the Bouny Manager either by e-mail or directly within the forum since his checking all the time.
