I am searching such an adapter for use in my desktop PC, which is running eCS. I want to be able to plug in a WLAN pcmcia card.

Is there List of supported chipsets or even fully supported adapter cards? Has anyone experience with such a thing ?

Have you checked the OS/2 drivers at http://www.ibm.com ?
Have you checked the driver section of either http://hobbes.nmsu.edu or http://www.os2site.com or http://www.os2bbs.com ?
OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end.
