Guess that I'm not the only one wondering and since I got some e-mails the topic and as well wondering for my own needs; I would like to ask. I usually preferr IBM ThinkPads, but could also accept HP and Dell laptops. But which of them would be the best pick for OS2? Any suggestions here regarding laptops? As well usually intel based NICs usually aren't any problem, but what about builtin modems; any chip that one should avoid, etc?

They are working on updating the notebook/2 site (an example of what it might look like at is http://www.baywarp.org/nb2 ). There is still the notebook/2 site hosted here at http://www.os2world.com .

There is also a discussion group at Yahoo Groups for users of OS/2 and notebook computers. It is at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nb2discuss (IIRC on the URL).

I have had five notebook computers ; all older models. One was a USLogic NT1000C. I don't remember the brand of the second one. The other three are Thinkpads (two 755C's and one 750Cs model [this one the screen went blank/malfunctioned]).

This might not be what you are looking for but it is a start.

OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end.

Well, BayWarp notebook page only has one IBM laptop tested and neither HP or Dell system are on the list.... so guess that I have to dig around if it turns out that we don't have any laptop visitors here at OS2 World

The BayWarp site is only an example of how it would work. There is a hosted page here at http://www.os2world.com that shows a whole lot more about notebook/laptop computers and how they rate with OS/2-eCS. At the main/home page of http://www.os2world.com , click on hosted pages/sites and click on the notebook/2 site. The exact url is http://www.os2world.com/DrMartinus/notebook.htm .
OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end.
