| Have you tried with Dani IDE drivers instead of IBM1S506 ? Might be in better luck there. /Kim |

| You find the danidrivers at hobbes: http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/system/drivers/storage But can someone tell, how to get that driver function during the install process? There isn't just to rewrite config.sys I guess. The system checks for ibm1s506 in other ways and expects to find it. Should one simply rename the danidriver temporarily, or what? |

melf (10 Aug, 2003 02:12): You find the danidrivers at hobbes: http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/system/drivers/storageBut can someone tell, how to get that driver function during the install process? To use the updated IBM drivers, you need to unpack it somewhere and then copy them to the diskettes. You may need to delete the old ones first to make sure there is enough room. To use Dani's drivers, rename them to the same as the IBM drivers. If you don't they don't get copied over to the hard-disk. For the original poster: When I see these errors at boot time, my immediate reaction is to reach over and eject the diskette from the drive and then reboot. I'm sure you have done this, but, without the actual error numbers, or when this happens, we can't see what's happening. Also, some more details of your system would be good. The manufacturer and model at least, a full listing of it's hardware would be good.
