I upgraded my CPU from a 486 to a Pent III.550 MHz All seems to be working fine except whenever I try to print I get a TRAP 000D ERRCD=0000**** EAX:00000590 bla bla bla bla and so on error at LOCATION ##0170.FFF62166-000F:A1C6.60000 9084 048600B4.
Whenever this happens the computer hangs.
How can I resolve this issure?.

OS/2 2.11? I would speculate you have more than 64mb of memory now, and at first glance that resembles a memory error. Check in your BIOS that the over-64mb entry is set for OS/2. The default is non-OS/2. Let us know.

If I had this error I would check the memory. Run Memtest86+ (comes with most Linux distros, and UBCD). In my experience faulty ram will usually fail memtest86+ within 48 hours if it will. Really bad ram will probably fail in the first hour or two, depending how long it takes to do a pass and where the fault is.

The other cause I have seen of a Trap D is bad sectors on the hard drive, but I'm guessing you are using the same hard drive as before the switch, so I think it's unlikely.

Since this is related to printing, I'd also check the printer port. On version 2 I would feel safer with Standard Mode (or bi-directional if the BIOS calls it that) than the fancy ones like ECP. More importantly, be sure it is using IRQ 7, and that nothing else is using IRQ 7. You might also try a different printer cable, though I think that is unlikely to be the culprit.

Oh and be sure that you are at the latest fixpak level for that version of OS/2!

Original HDD was a SCSI and I clone it to a IDE and right now printing is the only thing thats not working. Print screen works well on serial printer, I have one printer on a serial network and another on a AUX port on one of my terminal and whenever I try to print to any of then I get the ERROR. Original CPU 12 years old and the MB failed and is unable to boot also unable to find Motherboard so I had to reconfig to newer CPU. Memory are brand new

Here is where running older versions of the OS may get dicey,
as features on your newer system did not exist during the days
of OS2 2.11. I refer to stuff like Rambus RAM, Pentium 3-4 CPUs,
MB designs, etc. Try the latest fixpacks for OS2 2.11, ideally
you want the print01.sys file to be as current as it could be as
it handles the traffic you are trying to send to the LPT port. Even
better - backup your data and applications, install OS2 Warp 4
(or even Warp 3, if need be) and you will probably be many times
better off (not just in fixing this issue, but for any future support
matters that may crop up).

Actually, OS/2 isn't "downloaded" ala Linux distros. You may be able
to get used (or unused) copies for cheap on e-bay...or purchase a
newer distro of OS/2 known as ECS: http://www.ecomstation.com

Strange Maybe someone might be able to figure this one out but I found out that whenever I disable the FLOPPY in the BIOS the problem is solved I have no more Printer problems. What do I need to do to fix this.
