The 'no free beer..' article is fascinating. I think it is an opportunity for the 'German IBM' group to sell OS/2 Warp or for the Serenity Systems to sell a German eComStation software.
OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end.

Problem is that IBM won't much about it. The best one can hope for is that some local IBM Partner tries to do something.

It is probably a bigger opportunity for Serenity Systems to sell a German version eComStation since IBM has not done alot of 'selling'/promoting of OS/2.

Question is if a bigger company really dare to rely on a small company as Serenity - even if they have an agreement with IBM. In Europe I guess that Mensys taking care of the sales and marketing regarding eCS; I doubt that they have the people to pull of such deal. Another issue is that the German users as I understand haven't been that happy with the translation of eCS. So I think it adds up to much negative information for anyone to sell eCS to a larger company. About Sweden (since I'm located here) I know that there was said that there should come a Swedish version. But, still nothing has been delivered to thoose users that have pre-paid for the Swedish version. Nor have they been offered the US/UK version. People within Swedish OS2 User Group have even offered to help with the translation to speed things up, but so far nothing is said. From my perspective I don't need a Swedish version since I prefer to use english version of OS.

So if some sort of sale should be done it has to be plain Warp. Who would buy a product that only last for another year?
