| ok i've just obtained a 600 meg harddrive from my uncle, it had already loaded on it windows nt 3.51, (i already broke into that and there wasnt anything fun) and it also had os2 warp v3 loaded, i can look at the drive from a linux box i've got, but i cant get os2 to boot up, it just hangs i dont know much about os2 but i have wanted to learn for fun, and i dont know what to provide yet to help with the problem, my best guess is that it is device driver related since it's had a COMPLETE change in hardware. just tell me what you need to be able to help me out or if you cant help thanks anyway for any advice you can give me. i can alter anything on the drive if i need to so thats not a problem. |

| When the small cursor alike box in the uper left corner shows up together with the OS2 word after press then ALT+F2 and you'll see what driver the system hangs on. But, since you taken a drive from another system you would end up to spend a little too much time to recover it. But, what you could do is that when the the once again, says OS2 in the uper left corne, then press ALT+F1 and you should get a menu with an option to recover the system to it's orignal config.sys (I might be wrong here and this option menu might not be part of the Warp 3, couple of years ago that I used it). Well, with this you should get the system to run. Only thing that might give you headache is if system using a gfx driver that won't support your current system. Well, once again, use the ALT+F1 and chooe to get to command line. Write then SETVGA (should work in Warp 4) and the system will then reset the system to plain VGA. Now the system should boot up! Well, Murphy's Law! /Kim |
