I have an ADSL interne. The idea is to allow my father to call a home's modem with his notebook's modem, a to be able to get internet this way. In fact, how to create a small ISP-like system. My father use M$ WinME and will switch to Win2k probably soon. Is this possible with eCS? I know that some Linux soft allow that, but I do not know anything on Nux, and I do not want to "promote" M$.

| The answer is yes, but, I can't say I actually know how. The problem is the dialling in. Once that is done, you simply need to turn ipgate on (in \MPTN\bin\SETUP.CMD or via the TCP/IP configuration). I'm pretty sure that one of F/X Communications products will allow your father to dial in. Looking at the InJoy features list, shows "WAN Dial-in Support", which I think is what you need. Before you do this, there are two things to consider: - Will you ISP allow this? Chances are this will not be a valid use, and if they catch you, they can disconnect you. - What are the costs of doing this? Here in Australia, we are charged for local calls. My father recently connected to ADSL as the costs of the dial-up account plus phone calls was about the same as a 256/64 ADSL connection with 15GB of downloads. And that wasn't the cheapest option.

David, thank you for your help. I wonder if this option is included in the InJoy provided with eCS1.1. I'll have a look. Here, in Switerland, we used a offer from the operator Sunrise. For 24CFH ( about 20US$) each month, we have the right to make 600 time-unlimited fix to fix national phone call. If (all this works)

In past years I was using a modem in OS/2 to receive phone calls, and in this way to access my machine for FTP transfers, Telnet, Web services using Xitami, ... It was my own personal ISP ![]() Use "IBM Dial-Up for TCP/IP", "Add Entry" and apply PPP for "Internet conection type", AND check (enable) "Answer" for mode in "Modem Info" tab Then "Dial" and your OS/2 machine is ready to receive phone calls and accept TCP/IP services requests, if you have proper servers enabled Gracias,

Dear David Macias, How was the IP of your computer set? Does the "IBM Dial-Up" provide it to the computer who call in? Thank you for your help.
