Open an OS/2 window and type following command : help SYS03147 => OS2LDR.MSG file is invalid help SYS02027 => Insert a system diskette and restart the system Whouaa ! how it is easy to get OS/2 message information. Did you forget to remove a non bootable diskette and try to boot your system... try to Remove the diskette first chmrd |

thanks for this, unfortunately it did not work. I treid removing all disks and CD's and rebooting it just comes back to the same errors. I have also treid reinstalling again and although it goes all through the install it still comes back to the same error. Any more suggestions please?

| The installation of OS/2 on your HD is corrupted most likely. Also, it is possible that your HD driver does not understand your disk. Post, please, the history of the problem. 1. Is OS/2 the only operating system on your HD? 2. Do you have a boot manager and which? 3. Do you have some Neanderthal Technology on your HD? Was the Neanderthal Technology run just before the problem arised? 4. Have you ever started the OS/2 successfully? I mean the following: did you installed successfully and the OS/2 run for some time or the installation failed somehow and you wouldn't be able to start OS/2 at all? 5. Which HD drivers are you using? 6. Is your HD SATA or SCSI? |

Radek thanks for your comments sent you an email. Tried FSISK and reformating the drive again using FAT and the error codes have been replaced by an error sys0039 "C: device is not ready" but the C drive is active I made sure it was before the install. Any suggestions?

How big is the hard drive/partition that you are installing it to? Are you using Fat16 or Fat32?

Thanks to everybody for your help I now have got it installed and working. The problem was 2 fold: 1. I had been told to FDISK and format the disk and it did not like this because it was formated as NTFS, as it needs to format it itself so it has HTFS.2. When FDISKing the drive I did not give it enough space and the drive was not installable (did not understand that bit), it was only after resolving issue 1 that I found this as the OS2 install disk wanted to resize this itself and make the c drive installable. After that it was easy sailing. many thanks to all
