Question if there is any kind of parameter to be used to avoid the long init pause when cardbus driver can't locate or find any pcmcia or pc cards within the system. I'm mean sometimes I will have the need to boot up without any kind of pc cards but the current pause of almost 2-3 minutes are driving me crazy once a while when I'm re-booting the system.

Well.. Kim.. noboddy answered to this yet.. and I don't have a laptop.. so I'm very uncertain.. and I waited some time to reply.. But I did remember when I was offline for some reason the DHCP took several minutes to try to get a lease... If this is the problem.. wich I doubt.. then its solvable.. with the-d option like this in the settup.cmd in your mptm\bin dhcpstrt -d 5 -i lan0 in this case the pause should be during the config processing and in fact the DHCP does report it didn't get a lease although it can disapear from the screen very fast..

True, I set up the laptop to use a fixed IP instead and there was no pause anymore. Thanks for the help! /Kim
