1. Driver for USB Ethernet Adapter? |

I came across an USB ethernet driver at the download section of http://www.ecomstation.com . Has anyone ever used it? What USB ethernet adapters are they for/does it support?

| The USB NIC page mentioned is very useful, but may I point out that I have a D-Link DU-E10 USB to ethernet adapter which is mentioned on the site as: "This device was tested thoroughly by OS/2 Compatible Hardware List and has been found fully functional with eCS 1.1's integrated USB network support drivers, and IBM's latest USB network support device driver support for the Kawasaki KLSI5USB101b chipset." In my case the information above is wholly wrong and the device does not have the chipset as specified... Am I the only person with a DU-E10 with PEGASUS chipset. Man I must have been born lucky. | I can only say that Iself have tested this device on eComStation and OS/2 with the USB device drivers. And all devices listed in the PDF were sucessfully tested. Recently, I have experienced more and more manufacturers dare switch chipsets for a particular product. P.e. Linksys' WPC11 WLAN PCCard has models with Prism 2, 2.5, 3, and a Realtek chipset. However, there is actually NO indication or whatsoever with which you can tell the difference. I guess the hardware manufacturers are simply to blame Jonas Buys. << www.os2warp.be >> |

| Hi Jonas, I do not doubt for one moment that all the devices were tested in good faith and I don't blame anyone nor indeed call into question the integrity of the site. As you say... The manufacturer is to blame. I guess these people use whatever chipset is available at the time of manufacture and the users of that M$ product will be blissfully unaware of the chipset contained in that little package. Thanks for the reply and do keep up the good work. Kevin |
