we are working in a system routines for rename a file to a file with longname with a batch file procedure.
I work with OS2/4 and the command ren xxx xxx in the batch file only have the capacity until DOS limits (CCCCCCCC.EEE).

Any suggest is welcome. If you have other procedure, is welcome too.

Best Regards,
Orlando

When you say batch file; one question pops up in my head. Are you saving the batch file using *.bat instead of using *.cmd ? If so, then it's true that the batch file will only handle 8.3 files. But else it should support long files names without any problem.
