Is there possible to port Skype to OS/2? Since there are Windoz, Linux and OS X versions. Via Odin?

Well, I was thinking about it but right now I'm have another project on the go.

BTW: I havent seen the sources yet, but if it is made in win32api, the porting should not be as a big problem as it appears at the first look. The only complication could be that "sound engine" (DART probably?)

The sound issue could be the most difficult thing. I hope you may have success.

I have asked those at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/odinusers and some have (or attempted to try after I asked about it) tried it but say/indicate there were problems when using it with ODIN in OS/2-eCS.

I have sent the Skype site an e-mail about an eCS or OS/2 version. I am still hoping to hear from them. I sent them the url of ODIN and eCS.

Doubt that we will ever see a version of Skype for OS2; but together with Odin would be a bigger possibility.

But, it's worth asking at least, I mean, attempt has been made to scream OS2 into somebody ear or so. Sometime i also give the vendor a call; they usually are totally stumpled that someone calls them with the message about lacking OS2 drivers

One never knows until one asks. I have asked a variety of companies about OS/2-eCS support. I usually do not hear from them. On the rare occasion that I do hear from them, it is to be told that they do not plan support for OS/2-eCS. I would rather ask than not know if they could (perhaps one would?).

There is a forum at the Skype site. IIRC the URL is http://forum.skype.com . I posted the question about the possibility of an OS/2-eCS version but have not received a single reply yet.

maybe we should all go to the forum and ask about it ,

we should do that with more companies,if they have a forum go and ask,if 100 ppl ask it will look better than 5 will.
just a thought.

If more people ask about it, the company will see a market for the OS/2-eCS version of their product. If only a few ask for an OS/2-eCS version, they will not see a need to spend time to port it to OS/2-eCS (businesses are in it for the profit;therefore, will want to know if it is profitable to do).
