I have heard of operating systems that are 'embedded'. I have heard of a version of OS/2 that is 'embedded'. Are there any devices that use the 'embedded' version of OS/2?

PS Too bad there isn't a Warp CE version for handhelds (it could have 'handheld' versions of IBM Works).

OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end.

Yepp, Achim had session at Warpstock Europe that was about os2 embedded in devices. At the session he showed a SetTop box (Met@box) that uses OS2 as OS. Check the second picture on the following url:

Could the 'embedded' version of OS/2 be used in a device like a pda? (where the os is embedded).

Yes it can be used as such given that the processor is an x86 varian (those are not ideal for such work, but possible such as the newer ST variants)

Just for the fun of it, but it would be nice to see a spec how to set up a minimized OS2-enviroment that could be used for PDAs and other embedded solutions; ie whitepappers.

I gues it would be called WarpCE? It could have a 'pda' version of IBM Works? If there is a Linux pda (IIRC), why not an OS/2 pda(?).
