| VIA has some very nice embeddable Mini-ITX boards available which are supported for Windows & Linux. These boards (the base epia models) have LAN & Audio drivers for OS/2 as well, however the newer models do not include such support, I think as a community we should let VIA know there could be a need for such drivers, as these are the only mainstream small platform motherboards available, which could allow OS/2 users to create fanless systems or firewalls without performance loss. They have NDIS2 drivers for DOS for all models so it wouldn't even be more then a recompile for the lan drivers atleast... and maybe getting basic audio to work wouldn't be horrible, of course they could benefit alot from the knowledge gained from the SBlive drivers. |

The only problem is the newest boards the Epia-M has no support for OS/2 for either the lan or the sound card.. which eliminates one of it's functuins which would be a lan attached media player (yes OS/2 isn't the best choice for it, but all my media player would be doing is MP3 which with my OS/2 network it would be the best choice.. | Hi! >The only problem is the newest boards the Epia-M has no support for Wrong! I'm also running Win XP on that machine, and it's not fast enough (it's a 933MHz VIA CPU) to decode DivX video (100% system load - so sound and video get out of sync). But it's really fast enough to work with this little baby. Regards, |

| Could you email any information you have on how you configured it, or versions of OS/2 - eCS used, i want to add a section for it to my site... email: sys3175@optonline.net, the site is http://newterra.cjb.net It is really broken right now (since the real site is an .exe cgi and i can't get apache 2.0.44 to load my exe's right now). also wondering about the tv out, does it work even though scitech doesn't support the tv-out? (at hardware lvl), and how has anyone gone to the author of sdd or warpoverlay about getting support for the via chipsets? |

Sorry, haven't checked TV-Out. My guess it's not working right now. I've installed eCS 1.00 on the EPIA M9000 and updated to 1.03. Regards, Juergen Ulbts (Germany) *** Java Movie Database - http://www.jmdb.de *** |
